I don’t know how some “religious” brothers come up with the logic that if a woman is flaunting it, they can look. “Well, they’re there.” or “It’s her fault. She’s asking for it.” (As if he has no ‘aql or need for restraint?) Yes, Allah has ordained the physical hijab for women – for them to cover themselves modestly. If a woman is not following Allah’s command does not give you leeway to disobey Allah.
The man’s hijab is to lower his gaze.
Allah says in Surah an-Nur: “Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.”
All those “religious” men – especially those who are older – that I catch ogling young, scantily dressed girls make me SICK. It shows a man’s decency, his respect for women and his self-restraint/discipline when he doesn’t look at women.
So brothers, in no way shape or form are you allowed to look if she’s flaunting it. If you’re married, do it for your wife. And if you’re not married, do it for your future wife 🙂 And fear Allah.
